Coming into this season, four freshmen were unanimously considered the best of their class: Brandon Ingram (Duke), Ben Simmons (LSU), Skal Labissiere (Kentucky), and Jaylen Brown (Cal).

Their seasons played out with mixed results: Ingram was phenomenal, Simmons put up solid numbers but his team and his jump shot proved to be weak, Labissiere was a major disappointment (6.6 points and 3.1 rebounds per game), and Brown was up and down. Now, with Brown joining the group Thursday, they have all officially announced their plan to hire an agent and forego their remaining three years of college eligibility.

Brown, a 6-foot-7 guard, put up 14.6 points, 5.4 rebounds, and 2.0 assists per game this year; he was named Pac-12 Freshman of the Year. In his most public appearance, a first-round loss to Hawaii, Brown struggled mightily. He is talented and physically built for the NBA, but he has struggled with ball control and decision-making.

The latest SI NBA mock draft has Brown going No. 4 overall. The draft will take place June 23.
