Former New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez, who died at the age of 27 in April 2017, began dating Shayanna Jenkins in 2007. In November 2012, they had a daughter together, Avielle Janelle Jenkins-Hernandez. That month, they also got engaged and bought a home together.
Shayanna is now expecting a second daughter, she announced on Instagram Tuesday morning.
"Mommy and sissy will continue to wait patiently for your arrival," Shayanna wrote in the caption. "I thank everyone for the continued support and appreciate the respect for our privacy that has been shown."
It is unlikely that Hernandez is the father, but not impossible. It would be feasible if the former Patriots tight end had his sperm frozen.
If Shayanna is in a new relationship, TMZ noted, she has not made it public.
She has said she does not believe Hernandez killed himself.
