Children today who are able to fit into Little Posite Ones likely never got to see Penny Hardaway play basketball in his prime. That said, the likelihood of their awareness of the 20-plus-year-old "Hey Penny" poster on which the "Hey Penny" Little Posite Ones are based seems unlikely, at best.
The reason for such a shoe's existence exclusively in kids' sizes may be a mystery, but there's at least one adult who got to enjoy this piece of nostalgia: Penny himself.
Hardaway was spotted wearing a pair in his size while coaching at this past weekend's City of Palms Classic basketball tournament. So, while many fans who may have actually appreciated the sneaker have been left in the cold thanks to the lack of availability in men's sizing, at least the individual behind the story was able to fit into a pair of his own.
