After a tumultuous end to his Adidas partnership this summer fueled by reports of his signature line being discontinued, Trae Young has now officially signed with Jordan Brand.
The news was confirmed by both Young and Michael Jordan's namesake brand today, along with sharing images of the Atlanta Hawks All-Star guard decked out in Jordan gear. Young is also photographed wearing the Air Jordan 39 and the upcoming "Black Cement" Air Jordan 3 retro. Terms of Young's new deal weren't disclosed.
“To have the opportunity to join a brand that has a history of greatness is surreal. To me, it’s about setting the bar for the people that come after you. I’m grateful MJ did that for people like myself, and my goal is to try and continue that legacy for the young kids, including my brother, that are coming up after me."
Young has been signed to Adidas since entering the NBA in 2018 and received a contract extension from the brand in 2020. Young’s Adidas signature line produced three basketball models, with the most recent pair being the Trae Young 3 in 2023. There were also reports that a fourth Adidas model would debut this holiday season and was supposed to be his final shoe with the brand, but the drop never materialized.
