The in-store raffle for the Palace x Nike Air Max 95 collab was shut down by the police in New York City yesterday.
Sneaker fans lined up in front around 5 pm at Palace’s SoHo store yesterday after employees told shoppers that wristbands would be given out, which were required to purchase the collab on Friday. As employees began handing out wristbands, chaos ensued after individuals swarmed them, leading to various altercations. Shortly after, NYPD arrived to de-escalate the situation, leading to the event ultimately being shut down.
Ahead of its scheduled 11 am release this morning, Palace posted on Instagram that it has pivoted the drop to online only following yesterday’s events. “Palace NYC store will no longer be selling the Palace Nike Air Max 95 shoes or apparel. Please check Palace online at 11 a.m. EST to purchase. Apologies for any inconvenience caused,” Palace wrote on its Instagram Story.
For those who missed out on copping the sneaker today, the Palace x Nike Air Max 95 is also releasing on April 16 via SNKRS for $200.
