Nike has announced the renaming of its world headquarters in Beaverton, OR, in honor of the brand's co-founder, Phil Knight.

The 400-acre Nike headquarters now honors Knight's legacy by renaming it the Philip H. Knight Campus, effective immediately. The announcement was made yesterday by the brand's CEO, Elliott Hill, coinciding with his one-year anniversary in his role at the company.

"This is more than a name change," Hill said. "It’s a tribute to the man whose vision created a global movement. And it’s a reminder—to every one of us who will walk these paths and run these fields—of what can happen when belief meets action."

Knight co-founded Nike, which was originally known as Blue Ribbon Sports, with his coach, Bill Bowerman, in 1964. Knight is credited with the headquarters' design resembling a college campus rather than a typical corporate office space. The space currently features over 40 buildings, with the most recent additions being the LeBron James Innovation Center and the Serena Williams Building, which opened in 2021 and 2022, respectively.
