In recent years, Nike has planned a special drop in April to honor Jackie Robinson for breaking MLB’s color barrier on April 15, 1947. That tradition will continue soon with this V5 RNR release.
This “Jackie Robinson” Nike V5 RNR (style code: IQ3723-001) dons a very simple color scheme, starting with a predominantly black mesh and leather upper combined with sail trim on the Swoosh. Robinson’s iconic “42” jersey number is embroidered on the tongue and a special “Jackie” logo appears on the heel. Completing the look of the sneaker is a sail midsole and a black outsole.
Nike has previously dropped a Jackie Robinson-themed Dunk Low, Air Max 1, and Griffey 2, just to name a few.
There are currently no release details available for this “Jackie Robinson” V5 RNR, but the sneaker is expected to drop sometime around April 15 for Jackie Robinson Day. Check back soon for official updates.
