After transforming the Air Max 95 into a skateboarding shoe, Nike SB has now unveiled the SB Air Force 1 Low for its latest intra-brand release.
While samples of this Nike SB Air Force 1 Low began surfacing back in 2024, we’re finally learning about the changes that were made to the Air Force 1 silhouette to make it targeted for skateboarding. In addition, Nike confirmed that the “Light Orewood Brown” colorway (style code: HM8517-100) will lead the rollout, dropping in April. There’s also an all-black iteration that’s slated to hit retail in the near future.
"We had to find the right balance between delivering for skateboarders and honoring an icon," Mau Rosillo, a member of Nike’s Color Design team, said. "The design team considered every performance detail—the midsole, the outsole, the treads, and the upper—and packaged it into the Air Force 1. If we would’ve lost one or the other, we wouldn’t be here."
Ahead of its arrival next month, here’s the Nike SB Air Force 1 Low: everything you need to know.
What’s different about the Nike SB Air Force 1 from the Air Force 1?
A majority of the changes between the SB Air Force 1 and the standard pairs are under the hood.
