UPDATE (8/29, 8:52 p.m. ET):

On Friday (August 29), Nike announced its intent to dismiss its suit against Chen. The company filed a proposed order to dismiss the case without prejudice, meaning that they have the option to re-file later.

The judge in the case, Jacqueline Chooljian, has not yet signed off on Nike's move to dismiss the suit, but earlier motions in the case indicate that her approval is all but certain.

UPDATE (8/12, 5:52 p.m. ET):

Nike's lawsuit against Chen is actually for a little over $126,000, and not $126 million as originally reported. The discrepancy stems from a clerical error that led to a mistake in court records.

The suit accuses Chen and his company Juice Los Angeles of owing Nike $126,615.68 for "goods and services that Nike provided to Juice."

Nike has filed a lawsuit against former collaborator Edison Chen for a whopping $126 million. News of the suit was first reported by @Sneakerlegal on X.

The lawsuit filed by Nike in California's Central District Court last night alleges that Edison Chen breached his previous contract with the brand, but specific infringements have yet to be revealed.

Nike and Chen did not respond to a request for comment regarding the lawsuit.

Nike and its subsidiary Jordan Brand have previously collaborated with Chen under his Clot streetwear brand on numerous sneaker projects, with their first collab dating all the way back to 2006.

Their partnership came to an end in 2023 when Chen announced a deal with Nike's competitor, Adidas. Since then, Chen and Adidas have released numerous collaborations under his Clot label, including recently teasing his version of Anthony Edwards' AE 1 Low signature shoe.
