Nike is planning to bring back Baseball Hall of Famer Ken Griffey Jr.'s iconic "Fresh Water" Air Griffey Max 1 sneaker before the end of this year.
News of the retro was first reported by @Brandon1an and @Sneakermarketro on X, and sources tell Complex that the "Fresh Water" Air Griffey Max 1 is releasing as part of Nike's Holiday 2025 lineup.
There are no leaked images of this year's retro sneaker, but the release is expected to don its Seattle Mariners-themed color scheme like the 2021 pair pictured above.
Another Nike Griffey sneaker that will be releasing this year is a special Air Griffey 2 MCS makeup honoring the legacy of Jackie Robinson.
At the time of writing, official release details for the "Fresh Water" Air Griffey Max 1 retro have not yet been confirmed by Nike.
UPDATE (11/29): Nike has confirmed that the "Freshwater" Air Griffey Max 1 will return on Dec. 12 via SNKRS for $180. Grab a closer look at the retro below.
