The latest iteration of John Geiger's 004 sneaker isn't just another in-house design but was actually created by a middle school student.

Geiger and fellow sneaker designer Juan Wilson partnered with middle school teacher and sneaker fan, Andrew Dutton, who goes by AD Sneaks on social media, to teach students about footwear design. Each student was also provided the opportunity to create their own 004 colorway, and out of the 130 versions, a 7th grader named Mason had the best design as voted by the internet.

Dubbed “Good Day,” Mason’s 004 features a blue-based color scheme and has a flower pattern across the upper. There’s also a smiley face graphic on the tongue and insoles. It’s worth mentioning that the sneaker shown here is an early rendering.

Mason’s “Good Day” 004 colorway is currently available for preorder at Johngeigerco.com for $220. The sneaker is scheduled to be shipped in December. Proceeds from the sales will help fund a new art lab for Dutton’s students.
