Joe Freshgoods has just unveiled a new sneaker collaboration with New Balance. This time, the Chicago-born designer is putting his spin on the recently released 1980 silhouette.
According to Joe in the Instagram caption, the two orange and purple colorways reference a few of his favorite music and rap videos from the late 1990s. More specifically, Busta Rhymes and Janet Jackson’s What's It Gonna Be?! as well as Missy Elliott and Juvenile’s U Can’t Resist.
Both JFG x New Balance 1890s feature a tie-dye graphic on the mesh uppers and include Joe’s branding on the heel. Completing the look of the collabs is an all-black Abzorb-cushioned tooling. The sneakers also come in a special metal-inspired box.
Concrete release details for the two Joe Freshgoods x New Balance 1890 colorways have yet to be announced. Check back soon for official updates expected to be revealed in the coming weeks.
