Shai Gilgeous-Alexander’s Converse Shai 001 will soon release in one of its most eye-catching colorways yet: the “Steel” makeup, shown here.
The “Steel” Shai 001 is set to hit retail in mid-June, likely coinciding with him and his Oklahoma City Thunder squad’s potential appearance in the NBA Finals. Prior to that, Converse has confirmed that Gilgeous-Alexander will debut the sneaker on-court for Game 1 of the 2026 Western Conference Semifinals tonight.
This upcoming Shai 001 iteration features a tonal metallic silver color scheme that covers the molded leather upper all the way down to the Zoom Air-cushioned midsole and rubber outsole. Gilgeous-Alexander’s signature logo is debossed on the tongue and Converse’s Chevron logo appears on the heel.
Readers will be able to cop the “Steel” Shai 001 on June 11 at Converse.com and at select retailers for $150.
