This year marks the 30th anniversary of the legendary 1995-96 Kentucky Wildcats squad, and to celebrate Converse is bringing back the championship team’s memorable denim Cons sneaker soon.
Images of the upcoming “Kentucky Denim” Converse Cons have emerged, showing that it will be a straightforward retro of the ‘90s sneaker. Aside from the blue denim that appears prominently at the midfoot of the upper, tumbled leather panels are also used for the mudguard, at the heel and toe. Converse’s large Chevron Star logo is stamped on both the lateral and medial sides, which slightly dips down onto the midsoles.
The “Kentucky Denim” Converse Cons retro will first release at Kentucky-based retail store Oneness on Feb. 28 before a wider drop arrives later this year at Converse.com and at select Converse stockists. Check back soon for official release updates in the weeks ahead.
UPDATE (02/28): Converse confirms that the “Kentucky Denim” Cons retro will arrive on March 13 via SNKRS for $130.
