Kyrie Irving doesn't miss any opportunity to honor his supporters, whom he recognizes as members of his tribe, on his Anta releases. Next up for Irving and his sneaker line is a colorful Kai 1 Speed, arriving soon.
Dubbed "Tribe," the standout design element of this upcoming Anta Kai 1 Speed is the special pattern on the upper to represent "all walks of life" within his tribe. There are also several hidden easter eggs scattered throughout the silhouette, including a cutout at the center of the outsole, which looks like the peaks of two mountains and represents the relationship between Irving and his dad, Dred.
"The Kai 1 Speed 'Tribe' represents the journey I’ve been on, not just as a player, but as a person who is constantly learning from the people around me—my family, my friends, and my fans," Irving said in a press release. "This colorway is a tribute to the unity, love, and strength I’ve gained from my tribe, both on and off the court. We are more powerful united, and I believe it’s essential to learn from those who paved the way and sacrificed for us to be here today. This shoe is a reminder that we move forward together, and I’m inviting everyone to be a part of this journey with me."
The "Tribe" Anta Kai 1 Speed will be released on Oct. 25 at Anta.com and at select Foot Locker stores for $125.
