A popular Air Jordan 5 retro colorway is returning to retailers for the first time in two decades with the arrival of the “Black/University Blue” iteration coming back this month.
Jordan Brand confirmed on the SNKRS release calendar that the “Black Carolina” Air Jordan 5 (style code: DD0587-008) will release next Saturday in full-family sizing. The retro is nearly identical to the original ‘06 version, featuring a black nubuck upper and paired with university blue accents, which are inspired by Michael Jordan’s alma mater, the University of North Carolina. Additional silver hits can be found on the tongue as well as on the teeth of the midsole, while a black and icy blue outsole sits below.
The 2026 “Black Carolina” Air Jordan 5 releases on June 20 via the SNKRS app and at select Jordan Brand stockists. The adult pairs will retail for $220, the grade school sizes for $155, the little kids’ sizes for $95, and the toddler sizes for $80.
