Arrest Made in $200,000 Air Jordan Train Heist

California police arrested seven individuals on Friday after discovering they had a U-Haul truck filled with stolen Nike and Air Jordan sneakers. News of the burglary was first reported by CBS News.

As confirmed in a tweet by the California Highway Patrol (CHP) Border Division, the alleged thieves had over $200,000 worth of stolen Nikes and Jordans in the truck. According to CBS News, the bandits intercepted the sneakers from a train container by the Mojave Desert in Amboy, CA, and reportedly drove nearly 190 miles to Anaheim.

The CHP Border Division's Cargo Theft Interdiction Program was able to track down the U-Haul around 11:25 a.m. on Nov. 22, where they discovered the sneakers along with tools allegedly used to break into the train containers. One photo shared by the CHP account on X shows that the upcoming "Columbia" Air Jordan 11 was stolen in the criminal operation.

Per CBS News, the suspects have been booked into the Orange County Jail on felony grand theft of cargo charges and are awaiting trial.
