Aimé Leon Dore's original "International Friendship Through Basketball" New Balance 550 collection is still regarded as one of the best sneaker projects between the two entities. Now, the New York label and the Boston-based sportswear brand have brought back the popular collab — but for kids.
Available now on Aimé Leon Dore's website are the white/red, white/green, white/navy, and white/grey colorways of the popular New Balance 550 sneaker in kid's, toddler's, and infant's sizes. While the kids version of the collab remains unchanged from the adult pairs, the toddler and infant versions feature a midfoot strap on the upper to accommodate the smaller feet.
Since the inaguaral "International Friendship Through Basketball" 550 drop in 2020, Aimé Leon Dore has released several 550 collections in the seasons that followed. The duo recently introduced two hairy suede colorways in May as part of the label's 2023 Spring/Summer capsule.
