After debuting on the feet of Toronto Raptors guard DeMar DeRozan last month, Nike's "Mamba Day" colorway of the Kobe 1 Protro is officially set to release.
The style uses a colorway notably seen on the Kobe 11 that Bryant wore for his final game, combining a fully black leather upper with a gold Swoosh. The premium iteration includes suede overlays at the heel, toe, and tongue, along with several references to Bryant's legacy. Unique to this "Mamba Day" makeup is a custom insole printed with Kobe's likeness, along with the date of this year's release, which falls on the two-year anniversary of the Lakers legend's retirement.
This Kobe 1 Protro will release on April 13, 2018 with an expected retail price of $175. Other "Mamba Day" sneakers to look out for include colorways of the Nike PG2 and Kyrie 4 inspired by the Kobe Prelude line.
