The year is young, but the upcoming Air Jordan 6 “UNC” is already in contention for one of 2022’s best Jordan Brand releases. The North Carolina Tar Heels-inspired colorway arrives at a time when the brand’s University Blue shade has rarely been hotter, and the sneaker also has the allure of a usually unattainable college player exclusive.

SNKRS app users had a chance to get the shoes early last week during a surprise drop on Monday, Feb. 21 for a retail price of $210. Now we’re learning that those who struck out or missed the early drop altogether will have to procure their pairs elsewhere come Saturday.

The pair’s removal from the app after the prerelease led some to speculate a supply chain-related delay was affecting the sneakers, but today on a new episode of SNKRS live, host Lucian Dickson confirmed that the entirety of SNKRS’ stock was sold during the shock drop. This means that the “UNC” Air Jordan 6 will not be released again on SNKRS in the US, although it’s still set to launch on Saturday, March 5 from select retailers including Foot Locker.

While early surprise drops on the SNKRS app have taken place before, this is noteworthy for being the first time the brand has used all of its allocated stock ahead of the official release date.
