As Yeezy-mania reaches its peak, even The Wall Street Journal is getting in on the madness, with a recent article about the evolution of Boost tech — something we covered earlier this month. Although much of the information provided by WSJ is old news, there was one quote from an adidas spokesperson about the Yeezy Boosts that caught our attention immediately.

"Only a very limited number of people who want the new shoes will be able to get them," an adidas spokeswoman said. Wait a minute, what's that?

This directly conflicts with Kanye West's statement back in February in which he urged fans to "just be patient" and claimed that production numbers would be ramped up. "We'll make more Yeezys. Eventually everybody who wants to get Yeezys will get Yeezys. adidas has promised me that because there's so many kids that have wanted them that couldn't get them and I talked to the heads at adidas and they said we can make them," Kanye said.

Apparently, either something has changed since February or Kanye was misinformed, because we all know just how hard it's actually been to cop Yeezy Boosts. Now, with this recent statement coming straight from adidas, it sounds like the door has been shut on widespread general releases, at least for the time being.
