The Nike Kobe 1 Protro returns this month in another OG colorway. This time, it's the "Black/Varsity Purple" rendition.
Taking obvious cues from the team colors of the Los Angeles Lakers, the pair features a black leather upper, purple suede panel on the medial side, additional purple hits on the collar and midsole, a white Swoosh, and subtle yellow branding on the tongue and heel.
Like all prior renditions of the Kobe 1 Protro, this pair updates the mid-2000s signature for modern performance with a more lightweight build and full-length Zoom Air cushioning. It is set to coincide with the release of the Kobe's new book, The Mamba Mentality: How I Play.
Releasing just in time for the start of the 2018-19 NBA regular season, the "Purple Reign" Nike Kobe 1 Protro will hit Nike SNKRS and other select retailers on Oct. 23 for $175.
