Last year, Nike decided to bring back Dennis Rodman's Air Shake Ndestrukt to the chagrin of fans of the brand's extensive '90s basketball archive. Now, it looks like they might be resurrecting another one of The Worm's signatures by bringing back 1994's Air Darwin.
Originally worn by Rodman as a member of the San Antonio Spurs during the 1994-1995 season, the Air Darwin was the first Nike sneaker connected to the rainbow-haired rebounder. While he wore the shoe during his time with the Spurs, the silhouette has surfaced in three colorways that appear to take cues from his tenure with the Chicago Bulls.
Rather than bring back the shoe in the white, black, and green colorway worn by Rodman in the mid-'90s, the shoe has been dressed in "White/Black/Red," "Black," and "White/Red" color schemes. Unlike the last time Nike brought back the Air Darwin in 2012 with a 360 Air Max unit, these pairs feature the OG midsole tooling.
Release dates and retail pricing for this upcoming run of the Nike Air Darwin have yet to be determined.
UPDATE (10/22): Official images of the "Bulls" Nike Air Darwin retro have surfaced. The Dennis Rodman signature from the mid-'90s is scheduled to drop on Friday, Oct. 26 via nike.com and other select retailers for $130.
