The Flyknit Air Jordan 20 Is a Rag & Bone x Melo Collab

Jordan Brand is releasing a remixed version of the Air Jordan 20 with a Flyknit upper. Olive green/orange and black/gum colorways have surfaced that both sport Carmelo Anthony's logo on the insole.

In an effort to keep the Air Jordan line as modern as possible, Jordan Brand has taken to outfitting certain retros in Flyknit. The practice was originally used for the Air Jordan 1 in 2017. Most recently, the Air Jordan 3 has been given an all-black knit makeover. Now, Jordan Brand is updating an unexpected silhouette with the lightweight material—the Air Jordan 20.

Two colorways have surfaced of the upcoming release. One features a black upper with minimal gold accents and a gum bottom, while the other opts for an olive green upper with bright orange hits reminiscent of the highly-coveted "UNDFTD" Air Jordan 4.

Overall, the silhouette largely resembles the 2005 model with the most obvious change being Flyknit replacing patent leather across the upper. Unlike the OG, the Flyknit version features a high-cut ankle collar that eliminates the window usually present on the Air Jordan 20. Another change is that the midfoot strap no longer features its signature lasered graphics, but is now simply a solid-colored leather with a singular velcro patch on one side. Large pull tabs on the tongue and heel have also been added. The midsole and outsole remain identical.

Also worth noting is Carmelo Anthony's "Melo" branding hit each insole. It is currently unclear, but it could indicate that both of these pairs will be special releases tied to the Houston Rockets forward. A release date and pricing for the Air Jordan 20 Flyknit is currently unavailable, but have a look at initial images below.

UPDATE (09/05): As expected, these Flyknit-equipped Air Jordan 20s are a collaboration with NBA veteran Carmelo Anthony. Not only that, they're also a joint project with fashion brand Rag & Bone.

Releasing alongside a collection of apparel, the Rag & Bone x Air Jordan 20 is the first in a series of designer collaborations with Anthony known as Melo Made which will be formally unveiled Thursday, Sept. 13 during New York Fashion Week.

The Rag & Bone x Melo x Air Jordan 20 is set to drop later this month.
