Adidas Consortium is introducing the first of four drops from the new Communitas project, two colorways of the Magmur Runner designed by Naked. The Communitas initiative aims to shed light on the local community of each collaborator.
The Danish boutique crafted a brand new model, the Magmur Runner, inspired by designs from the '90s. A mesh upper with leather overlays sits atop a chunky midsole. Details include nylon Three Stripes branding on each side panel, pull tabs on each heel, and traditional Consortium tags on each tongue donning Naked and Adidas Trefoil logo.
"We wanted to create a sneaker unlike any other, so we traversed an extensive range of basketball and running silhouettes to derive the best design elements we could find," said Naked creative director Stine Pedersen in an official press release. "This was about elevating the current chunky sneaker aesthetic – an evolution of the dad shoe that’s distinguishable as a Naked creation."
Two variations of the Magmur Runner will be available. A white and cream pair will receive a wider launch at select Consortium accounts, while a white pair with blue details and green Three Stripes will be exclusive to Naked. Both will release on March 16 for $150 each.
