Air Jordan V 'Oregon Ducks'
Even though fans are quick to give the updated Air Jordan V “Apple Green” the moniker “Oregon” this list would not be complete without including the original Air Jordan 5 “Oregon Ducks” sneaker. In 2014, the University of Oregon Ducks got their own exclusive colorway drawing on the green and yellow team colors. The OG version is almost identical to the “Apple Green” with Puddles, the team mascot, being seen on the heel. Although the main differences lie in the heel and tongue graphics included in the “Apple Green” iteration, there are a lot of little changes made to the shoe beyond the heel and tongue.
Supreme x Air Jordan V “Desert Camo”
In the Fall of 2015, fans went absolutely berserk when Jordan Brand teased the Supreme x Jordan Brand collab through a photo of Michael Jordan wearing a Supreme x Jordan t-shirt on the @jumpman23 instagram photographed by Terry Richardson. Part of a three-pair collaboration, the Supreme x Air Jordan V Retro “Desert Camo” dropped October 16 on the Supreme webshop selling out and becoming the most sought after colorway of the three. The number ‘94 can be found on the heel representing the year Supreme was founded by James Jebbia.
Air Jordan V Retro T23 'Tokyo'
Released on April 29, 2011, the yellow constructed suede Air Jordan V dubbed “T23 Tokyo” commemorates the opening of the Jordan Tokyo 23 store in Japan. The mostly yellow upper sees contrasting grey panels and tongue with hits of black across the laces, outsole, and logo. With the release dating back over 10 years, this shoe is one of the rarer models of the AJV.
Trophy Room x Air Jordan V Retro 'Friends & Family'
The popularity of the ESPN hit series The Last Dance led to increased resell prices for the sneakers related to Michael Jordan. The Trophy Room x Air Jordan 5 Retro “F&F” was no exception. Inspired by the real-life trophy room in Jordan’s home, the shoe sees a University Red upper crafted in premium suede with hits of Ice Blue and Sail. Ordained with a trophy and Jordan brand details on the heel, the sneaker is complete with a translucent sole in a wood grain pattern mirroring the court-style flooring in MJ’s trophy room. The sneaker was only given out to a select few in May 2019 limited to 223 pairs.
Paris Saint-Germain x Air Jordan V Retro “Friends & Family”
The Paris-Saint Germain AJ5 represented Jordan Brand’s foray into soccer by joining forces with the french football club. While the retail version of the collaboration saw a black upper, the exclusive friends-and-family version received a clean white leather upper. PSG details are present in the netting, tongue, eyelets, black laces and midsole and embroidered co-branding on the heel tab. The number 75 is a special nod to the postal codes of Paris.
Air Jordan B Retro PE “Fab Five”
Among the rarest of all Air Jordan Vs, the “Fab Five” paid homage to the Michigan Wolverines’ “Fab Five” team of the ‘90s which included Chris Webber, Jalen Rose, Juwan Howard, Jimmy King, and Ray Jackson. One of the most sought after Players Exclusive editions of all time, the sneaker was designed by Tinker Hatfield and Dan Sunwoo sporting signature Michigan team colors.
Off-White x Air Jordan V SP “Muslin”
When the Off-White x Air Jordan V “Muslin” was first teased, the internet went wild celebrating the new edition to the Off-White saga. Released on February 15, 2020, the sneaker has become one of the most popular models of this year. The Off-White Air Jordan V “Muslin” is a stylized retro of familiar silhouettes like the “Premio Bin23.” The faded black textile upper gets Nike Air embroidered branding with Virgil’s signature text on the laces and medial panel complete with a pre-yellowed translucent rubber outsole for a vintage look.
Air Jordan V Retro “Shanghai Shen”
Although the “Shanghai Shen” launched only in China, this colorway has become an all-time favorite iteration of the Air Jordan V. Fans are drawn to the color scheme which is similar to the black version of the “Laney” with a synthetic nubuck upper, blue hits with yellow accents. Shanghai is commemorated in a medallion embroidery on the heel quarter panel.
