Skepta x Puma Skope Mid “Dark Chocolate”
Skepta’s footwear resume continues to evolve. He’s only half a year deep into releasing sneakers with Puma and he’s already switched the style up, releasing this mid cut of his Skope model. The “Dark Chocolate” pair pushes the silhouette into boot territory with an earthy colorway and metal eyelets.
Salehe Bembury x Crocs Pollex Clog
Crocs has been dropping more collabs than ever, but Salehe Bembury’s version continues to set itself apart from the rest. The designer’s remixed iteration of the Crocs Classic Clog features a unique ridged upper that’s molded after his own fingerprints and an adjustable heel strap that’s also removable. This “Manta” colorway is wearable yet still plays to the unique design.
Rihanna x Puma Avanti VL Fenty “Club Red”
Puma is having a bit of a moment. We’re not going to say that the brand is red hot, but we feel comfortable saying that it’s got a whole lotta red sneakers that look alluring right now. The reissue of the original Puma Speedcat in that red suede popped earlier in the year, and collaborators like Rihanna are helping out with the momentum. She hit the mark with this one, a cherry red version of her Avanti hybrid model.
Bricks & Wood x New Balance 1906 Utility Complex
This is Bricks & Woods’ third project with New Balance, and the first time the brand has been able to cook on a silhouette that’s universally well-received in the sneakerhead space. B&W were able to gain cult-followings on their 57/40s and 9060s and are looking to blow the roof off with the 1906. These just look awesome. Inspired by butterflies, the shoe is bright and vibrant, but the black base balances it all out.
ASAP Rocky x Puma Inhale Mesh
Since ASAP Rocky joined Puma, his footwear focus has been largely motorsport-inspired. First, he released a Formula 1 collection for the 2023 Las Vegas Grand Prix, and now he’s remixing the Puma Inhale with bright green overlays and a “Flacko” stamp on the tongue.
Vans Authentic Reissue 44 “Black/White”
A plain pair of Vans will never not be good. In a world of hyped out shoes, limited edition drops that make you want to smash your phone with anger, and deep sneaker state conspiracy theories about backdoored allocations, there’s something so pure and satisfying about a staple like this.
Vans Slip-On Reissue 98 “Black/White”
There’s something inherently cool about a slip-on shoe, and something even cooler if they’re Vans. This one throws in a bonus that it’s a reissue from 1998, when footwear brands still made quality shoes. And they come in the classic black and white. They’re good—not much more to say.
Vans Old Skool 36 “Black/White”
From skateparks to runways, and just about everywhere imaginable in between, Vans’ Old Skool 36 has become a ubiquitous style in the decades since its 1977 introduction. The simple canvas and suede upper is timeless, and the Sidestripe logo offers just enough visual interest to differentiate itself. Almost 50 years later, it still just works.
Rihanna x Puma Avanti VL Fenty “Warm White”
Between the quilted upper and flip-down tongue, Rihanna’s hybrid Avanti model has a lot going on. This “Warm White” colorway offers a more subtle approach to the shoe, letting the texture and gum outsole take center stage. Soccer-inspired sneakers are as hot as ever right now, and Puma and Rihanna’s entry into the category is a compelling choice.
Vans Slip-On 98 “Checkerboard”
When thinking about Vans, one of the first things that comes to mind is the checkerboard Slip-On. Big up Jeff Spicoli. It’s one of the true hero models of the skate brand and is as connected to Vans as the Air Force 1 is to Nike or the Superstar to Adidas.
