This One-Off Air Jordan Custom by Mark Smith Is Going for Big Money

And it's all going to charity.

No doubt the most surprising entry in the 2015 Nike Doernbecher collection is the "DB Dozen," a series of 12 Air Jordan 12s customized by longtime Nike designer Mark Smith.

Smith's drawings here actually superimpose Tinker Hatfield's original Jordan 12 sketches onto retro pairs, with each one in the dozen using slightly different drawings from Hatfield's vault. Making the latest pair to hit the auction block extra exciting is that it uses the Air Jordan 12 "The Master" colorway, which isn't scheduled for a retail release until 2016, as its base.

As is to be expected for an Air Jordan rarity like this, the pair is fetching big money. Bidding is over $8,000 at the time of writing, and a previous pair finished at $11,301.

Bidding on these very special Air Jordan 12s is live on eBay here.
