Last December, 16-year old Caleb Freeman was on his way to watch his favorite player Trae Young and the Oklahoma Sooners play when he was involved in a major car accident that let him in critical condition. When he heard the news, Young dedicated his next game, a 22-assist outing in a win over Northwestern State, to Freeman and played with his name written on his Nike PG1 sneakers.

Fast forward to this past Thursday, when Freeman received a special package from Young at Craig Hospital in Denver, where he continues to undergo treatment for brain-related trauma. The contents included the very sneakers worn by Young in the Northwestern State game autographed for Freeman. Young praised Freeman's resilience in a post shared on Twitter.

According to family and close friends, Freeman is continuing to make steady progress in his recovery.
