Before calling an end to his basketball career for good, Michael Jordan was a mentor to Team Jordan member and eventual NBA champion Richard "Rip" Hamilton in Washington. Over the years, Jordan and Hamilton have remained close, prompting the former All-Star guard to tell the story about what he calls the best pair of sneakers in his collection.
He recently shared a photo of game-worn and dual-autographed "True Blue" Air Jordan 3s. According to Hamilton, they were given to him straight off Jordan's feet following a Wizards victory, likely during the 2001-2002 season. He added that Jordan was reluctant to give up the shoes, but "had no choice" after Hamilton dropped 30 points in the game.
One could only imagine the story tied to the pair of autographed "Copper" Air Jordan 17s hiding in the background.
