All-red sneakers became an undeniable trend in 2013, and it took off because there were so many great releases with sneakers splashed completely (or almost) in this fiery shade. It's hard to track exactly where this trend came from, but all-red sneakers have been bubbling in high fashion for quite some time, and they finally transferred over to the average sneaker enthusiast.

Kanye was seen wearing all-red sneakers for a good portion of the year. Between his Nike Air Yeezy II "Red Octobers" and an all-red pair of Air Max 90s, his feet were dripped in monochromatic flames. But other brands got in on the trend, too. ASICS released a pair of GT-IIs with a red upper thanks to some folks down in Australia, and even Reebok and New Balance released literal heat.

To be fair, when we say "all-red sneakers," the sneakers don't have to be 100-percent red. Accent colors such as white midsoles or hits of black or grey still constitute an "all-red sneaker," as long as the upper is predominately red. With that said, here are The 10 Best All-Red Sneakers of 2013.

10. Nike Air Max 1 Premium - Pimento/Black

The red suede on the Air Max 1 silhouette is pure heat. This one of the Air Max 1s that people will kick themselves over in five-six years for not owning, and them scour endlessly (to no avail) to try and find. Those who got these runners know why they're special.

9. Reebok Answer I "All Star" Red/White

These were initially made as a sample for Allen Iverson for the '98 NBA All Star Game, but scrapped when he did not make the team. Earlier this year, Reebok decided to bring them back. The DMX technology looks just as cool as it did in the '90s, and all-red was the perfect colorblocking for this year. Some things have magical ways of working.

8. Highs and Lows x ASICS GT-II "Brick"

Highs and Lows is a cool boutique in Perth, Australia and released its "Brick and Mortar" pack with ASICS this year. The pack featured a pair of Gel Lyte IIIs and GT-IIs, and while the Gel Lyte IIIs are great in their own respective way, the all-red GT-IIs were certified flames. An all-red upper on a retro ASICS runner is an easy-to-execute idea, and these folks from Down Under knew what they were doing.

7. Saint Alfred x New Balance 1500

Saint Alfred and New Balance can do no wrong. These 1500s dropped last week, but were one of the best all-red sneakers of the year. The white midsole and gum outsole make these extra crispy, and the suede upper is one of the hairiest anyone will see on a New Balance sneaker. Talk about bringing Christmas cheer.

6. Nike LeBron X EXT "Red Suede"

Although these LeBron Xs didn't see an official release, a sample pair did make its way to eBay with a hefty $1,475 price tag. If they had hit retail, however, the thirst for these buttery suede LeBrons would have been real.

5. Nike Air Max 90 Hyperfuse "Independence Day" Pack

Red was definitely the freshest of the Nike Air Max 90 "Independence Day" Pack, and seeing Kanye rock them repeatedly over the summer made them all that more legendary. Surprisingly, these weren't the sneakers in the pack that Kanye lost his cool in and fought a paparazzi, that would be, oddly enough, the blue ones.

4. Nike Flyknit Chukka University Red

The Nike Flyknit Chukka is one of the best releases of 2013, and was a cool sportswear sneaker that didn't have an exacting purpose--except looking fresh. Perfectly executed and ultra-versatile, the all-red colorway is an added bonus, and low-key one of the best color schemes of the sneaker to drop this year.

3. Air Jordan "Legends of the Summer" Pack

The Air Jordan "Legends of the Summer" pack didn't make it to stores, and it made them all more coveted and mysterious. Justin Timberlake opened the "Legends of the Summer" tour by leaving a pair in a few cities for lucky fans to find via scavenger hunt. But let's be real: Air Jordan Is, IIs, and IIIs in all-red suede is mind-melting. According to Trinidad James, the quality on these sneakers is so high, the bootlegger can't even attempt to bootleg them.

2. Nike Air Yeezy II "Red October"

The salt is real for Red Octobers. Highly anticipated with no release date in sight, people have all but given up on getting a pair of Yeezys farewell with Nike. But who knows, maybe the excitement will return when (or if) they drop. If the Red Octobers had dropped this year, and not just found their way into the select hands of celebs and insiders, they would have easily been the best all-red sneakers of the year.

1. Air Jordan IV "Toro Bravo"

Jordan blessed everyone with the Air Jordan "Toro Bravo" IV, and proved that the all-red trend of 2013 was at its pinnacle. Seriously, all-red Air Jordan IVs? That's a no-brainer. This color scheme wasn't forced at all and paid tribute to Mike's days with the Bulls. There are few things better than a fly sneaker with context.
