Air Jordan 5 “Green Bean”
Price: $200 USD
Where to buy: Nike and select retailers
The Green Bean 5s are making their return after releasing back in 2006 during a time where hypebeast and resell culture wasn’t mainstream yet. This pair is made to mimic the original release exactly—the uppers are still made with a grey 3M that will reflect light when worn at night. You can definitely expect this pair to sell out quickly on its May 28th release date.
New Balance x Bape “57/40”
Price: TBA
Where to buy: New Balance and Bape US
A very interesting collaboration where a relatively conservative sneaker gets a splash of patterns and colours from Bape. The retro vibe of the 57/40 coupled with the branding of Bape ended up working out very well—both with the more conservative black/grey colour, or with the splash of colour on the other pair. No firm release date has been announced yet, but rumour has it that they’ll be releasing within the next month.
Travis Scott x Nike Air Max 1
Price: $160 USD
Where to buy: Nike, SNKRS app
The release date of the Travis Scott Air Max 1s have been postponed multiple times due to the tragedies that took place at Astroworld. Although many people still feel it’s too soon for new Travis Scott goods to drop, it’s rumoured by an inside source that they’ll finally be released on May 27th. Until this is officially announced you’ll definitely want to keep your eyes peeled, as a sneaker from Travis Scott being released after multiple delays will most likely disappear right before your eyes.
Nike Lebron 9 Low “LeBronold Palmer”
Price: $200
Where to buy: Nike, SNKRS app
The “LeBronold Palmer” 9 lows were originally released by in the summer of 2012 as a player-exclusive sneaker for the king himself. Inspired by the half-iced tea, half-lemonade Arnold Palmer drink, this pair really shines in bright, sunny destinations. Sneaker enthusiasts will most definitely be looking forward to this drop, as it’s been 10 years in the making! Arriving right in time for the summer on May 19th.
Price: $185 USD
Where to buy: Nike, SNKRS app
Releasing in both black and white, the Nike Air Force 1 Mid is receiving the Virgil Abloh treatment. Having originally surfaced in September 2021, this pair has been receiving mixed reviews from the sneaker community based on design aspects and colour. Like the Off-White Blazer Lows, some feel that there were some design elements—such as the colourful soles—could have been left out to make the sneaker more appealing to the masses. Expected to release May 23rd, they will likely sell out, just like everything else touched by Virgil.
Puma x Batman Suede Classic Sneakers
Price: $100 CAD
Where to buy: Puma Canada
Puma’s go-to collab sneaker the Suede Classic is getting a Batman makeover to honour the release of The Batman. Inspired by the movie’s moody and dark vibe, the black and red sneaker is filled with an all-over bat print sockliner. Releasing at Puma.ca on June 21st, this pair shouldn’t be too hard to pick up.
Hello Kitty x Nike Air Presto
Price: $140 USD
Where to buy: Nike, SNKRS app
The Nike Air Presto? Iconic. Hello Kitty? Also iconic. These two combined are going to really make some noise—especially since this collab was originally expected to release back in 2004, with only an extremely limited number of pairs making their way to friends and family only. Bright and colourful with plenty of Hello Kitty branding all over the uppers, you can hope to get yourself a pair when they release May 27th. This collaboration will also be dropping in a full size run, all the way down to infant sizing.
Adidas Yeezy Boost Hi Res
Price: $300 USD
Where to buy: Adidas, Yeezy Supply
Since the Waverunner made a return this year, Adidas and Yeezy are now adding a new colourway to the 700 line up. This is arguably the most eye-catching colourway yet, the “Hi-Res Red.” The bottom half of the shoes are slightly more conservative, but once you get to the top, you’re greeted with bright red leather and mesh. A release date is yet to be officially announced, but they are expected to drop in late May or early June.
Jordan 1 Heritage
Price: $170 USD
Where to buy: Nike, SNKRS app
It seems like there’s an Air Jordan 1 on our list every month. It’s very hard to ignore any new colourways of the Air Jordan 1 OG High. Knowing this, Nike and Jordan have really stayed on top of making sure we have something classic to look forward to each month. This pair has familiar Bulls colours just set in different areas of the sneaker. If you’re looking to add another classic AJ1 to your rotation, you can try your luck on May 25th.
New Balance 2002R Grey Brown
Price: $130 USD
Where to buy: New Balance
Dads, get ready—New Balance is releasing another shoe for you! The New Balance 2002R really gives off that retro dad shoe vibe, and this time, the shoe will also come with a little bit of utility. A removable grey and orange pouch sits on top of the sneaker, and though it doesn’t seem to be able to hold much, it’s a cool minimally functional design element. Excepted to release on May 21st, you can get your pair directly through New Balance.
