Let’s hope you didn’t spend all your money last week at Sydney’s Swap Meet or bet on LeBron to survive this year’s NBA finals, because this week there’s some incoming drops that are sure to destroy your bank balance. The 750 Boost gets a gumsole workout, while MJ drops two UNC-flavoured retro lows. Saucony gets in on the action with a quiet release of a retro model and Neymar chips in with the first ever Football x Air Jordan release.
Saucony x The Quiet Life Shadow 5000 “Quiet Shadow”
Los Angeles brand The Quiet Life has teamed up with Saucony to drop a subtle ode to the serenity of the night sky. Taking my favourite Saucony silhouette (the Shadow 5000), the Quiet Life have used a black perforated suede toebox, which blends into a subtle dark night sky print on both the medial and lateral sides. This is all contrasted with a light baby blue suede on the heel. Finished with unique Quiet Shadow branding on the tongue and Quiet Life branding on the heels, this all sits on a simple white midsole with back outsole. Elegantly restrained, look for these at the following Saucony stockists.

Nike Air Jordan V Retro Low ‘Neymar’ (Mens/GS)
Footballing wunderkind Neymar’s affiliation with Nike has culminated in the first ever Air Jordan x football (or soccer for you heathens) collaboration. Taking the Air Jordan V Low silhouette and draping a speckled grey 3M upper over the classic sharktooth midsole (which also sports speckled 3M and infrared 23 highlights), Neymar has one-upped fellow Nike footballer, Cristiano Ronaldo with a streetwear release that’s sure to generate a lot of interest. Leading up to the Rio 2016 Olympics, this will be a hot release for football fans and sneaker collectors worldwide.

Nike Air Jordan IX Retro Low “University Blue” (Mens/GS)
Jordan Brand unveils another low this week with the Air Jordan IX taking on the familiar Pantone colourway (ie. University Blue). In a throwback to the original UNC “For The Love Of The Game” Air Jordan 9s from a few years back, this low cut version features the same UNC Blue on the entire upper (instead of a blue/white combination) stuck onto a white midsole. Honestly, Jordan Brand should just release every single retro with a completely tonal University Blue upper stuck onto a white midsole and just watch the money pile up. Just stop making them lows instead of hightops okay?

adidas Originals x Kanye West Yeezy 750 (Light Grey/Gum)
YEEZY SZN never stops, and this weekend sees the drop of another 750 colourway. After sending the kids wild with the all-black 750 Boost, adidas drops a 750 featuring soft grey uppers on a classic gum sole. Honestly, it looks a bit weird in photos, coming across like a weird, translucent dead salmon kind of hue, but I’m sure the kids will still love it since it fucking GLOWS IN THE DARK. I’m sure that’s never been done before, right?

UNDEFEATED x ASICS Gel Lyte V “Disarray”
Los Angeles streetwear titans Undefeated are back at it again with ASICS, taking the well-loved Gel Lyte V silhouette for another run. In one of the wildest takes on any shoe collaboration in recent memory, Undefeated go for an entirely printed, black & white leather upper that quite literally looks like it is in complete disarray. Featuring significant Undefeated branding on the heels and even midsole, it is all tied back to the famous LA brand’s flagship orange covering the neoprene liner and insole. A shoe that is sure to divide opinion but guaranteed to snap necks.

Nike Air Jordan II Retro Low (University Blue) “UNC”
More North Carolina vibes from Jordan Brand, with a subtle colourway for the Air Jordan II low silhouette. Taking the faux-reptilian white upper from past Air Jordan II models and dashes of university blue and midnight navy highlights, Jordan Brand has crafted a subtle and tasteful casual sneaker for one of the under-appreciated models in their retro line-up.
