Killa Beez on the swarm

With the NBA season now all over, Nike have sent forth a swarm of Killa Beez to take the industry by force. It's the Triumph video all over again this weekend. Whether you're looking to bomb atomically in a pair of EQTs or jump like Rod Strickland with the classic Jordan 8s, there's a lot to cop. Let's get into it.

adidas Originals EQT Support Running 93 “Black/Sub Green”

Returning after a long lay-off back in 2014 (with support from Australia’s own Sneaker Freaker), the OG colourway of the EQT Support 93 gets re-issued this weekend. While re-issuing a shoe that just came back on the market two years ago seems a bit strange, the increase in popularity of the EQT Model (and honestly, all things Three Stripes), means collectors old and new will appreciate the return of an early 90’s classic. Dressed in chalk and grey leather uppers with black mesh toebox, the EQT is looking to take its place alongside other 90s classics as a staple in the present day scene.

Nike Air Jordan 8 “Celebration Pack” (Championship Trophy & Confetti)

With the release of this year’s celebration pack, Jordan Brand are once again celebrating MJ’s glorious run to yet another title. After launching the crazy Air Jordan 6 celebration pack, which featured cigar and champagne motifs, the Air Jordan 7 revisited that look with lesser results. Ditching that tired theme and going for gold (in an Olympic year, no less), Jordan Brand whip up a delicious combination based around the championship trophy (white/gold) and the championship confetti (black/multi). The trophy pair features a luxurious smooth white leather upper, with tasty golden highlights all over, while the confetti pair features high grade tumbled black leather, similar golden highlights and a confetti-themed heel counter. This is probably my favourite Jordan pack since the subdued and severely underrated GMP 6/7 pack, you really can’t beat monochromatic uppers with golden highlights.

Nike Air Foamposite One “Yellow”

Let’s be real, Nike would like to officially call these the “yellow” Foamposites, but we all know these will now and forever be known as the Wu-Tang Foams. Even though these are almost identical to the Electrolime Foamposites that dropped a few years back, the use of a completely black outsole gives the shoe even more of a Wu-Tang flavour than the translucent sole on the Electrolimes. Since Nike Sportswear have pumped the brakes on wildly patterned Foams and reverted back to single-colour Foams, look for the return in popularity of one of history’s most misunderstood shoes.

NikeCourt x Liberty of London 2016 Collection (Women’s Only)

Sometimes it just doesn’t pay to have a big foot. When Liberty Design drop one of their regular Nike collaborations, you can’t help but feel a bit slighted that Nike doesn’t really make larger women’s sizes like they used to. This latest collection from the London design studio features a hand painted print on five different silhouettes, ranging from the Benassi Slide, Air Rift, Cortez, Tennis AC Court and the halo model, the Air Max 1 Ultra. All five pairs mix up the exquisite pattern with vachetta tan highlights (or in the case of the Cortez, flipping the primary pattern for all vachetta with pattern highlights) and finished off with Nike’s good old, reliable Volt. This is by far one of the best collections in recent memory and sure to be a winner with both women and smaller footed lads everywhere.
