The Nike Air branding is back – but does the subtraction of the Jumpman justify a $280 price tag on the Metallic Black Vs?
If you’re not coppin a pair of the GOAT’s grails this weekend, you can cop his running mate’s Uptempos in stores already (be quick!), a pair of throwback Dunks, or some fresh as fuck Diadoras. Let’s make it happen.
Nike Air More Uptempo
In the strange but successful life of the great Scottie Pippen – who will forever be known as Michael’s sidekick – it’s always been odd that he is more known for a shoe that doesn’t even bear his name. Despite having the Air Pippen line in Nike’s archive, Scottie will forever be remembered for wearing the Air More Uptempo than any other shoe. The Uptempo is back with the famous fuck-you AIR branding on both medial and lateral sides of the upper. In time for Rio, the retro is adorned in mostly navy and white on the upper and midsole with subtle red highlights in the air unit and tongue swoosh to complete that US-of-A vibe.

Nike Air Jordan V OG Retro “Metallic Silver”
One of the few instantly recognisable shoes in the history of sneakers, the Metallic Black Air Jordan 5 returns in all of its original glory. Nothing really more to say, aside from this release’s reintroduction of “Nike Air” branding on both the heel and outsole, in lieu of recent “Jordan” branding on any retro release. I’ve never been a huge fan of Air Jordan 5s (that ankle padding is NOT comfortable at all), but there’s really nothing quite like seeing an icon reborn…

Nike Dunk Retro QS (White/Orange Blaze)
Nike Sportswear gets in on the retro action this week with the return of one of the most beloved colourways from its archives. The “White/Orange Blaze”, or better known as the “Syracuse” (Shout outs to the greatest ‘Cuse player of all time, Gerry McNamara, the real MVP of Syracuse’s NCAA title), is the perfect compliment to any 2005 rapper looking to match their bright orange fits. My personal favourite from the “Be True To Your School” pack, there’s some obvious similarities to Supreme’s Dunk High that should entice some of the punters out there.

La MJC x All Gone x Diadora N9000 “2014/5th”
Coming up to the fifth installment of their shoe series with Diadora, the infamous La MJC/Club 75 crew drop an ode to the 2014 edition of their streetwear bible, “All Gone”. Taking palette cues from each of the covers of their highly sought after yearly streetwear roundups, this installment sees the retro 80s Italian runner dressed in soft pastel pinks on a classic white midsole/gumsole combination. The inner lining of the shoe features the same pattern that adorns the cover of the 2014 edition of “All Gone” and the shoes are finished off with “ALL GONE” branding on the heels.Limited to just 200 pairs, any remaining pairs that aren’t sold in-store will see release online at club75.fr.
