Ryan Reynolds may play the gun-toting violent antihero Deadpool on the big screen, but he's a full-out hero in real life.
In his latest good deed, Reynolds hung out with kids battling cancer while filming reshoots for Deadpool 2 in his hometown, Vancouver, Canada. The kids were beneficiaries of the Make a Wish foundation, which grants the wishes of children with life-threatening illnesses.
"One of the best parts of playing the Big Red Jackass is welcoming @makeawishamerica and @childrenswishfoundation onto set," read his Instagram post (above) next to a photo of him posing with the cute kids. "Deadpool kicked Cancer in the taint, but these kids do it for real every day."
Reynolds also gave a "HUGE thanks" to the film's prop master, Dan Sissons, who fashioned the kids with his or her own sword. But instead of Deadpool's deadly "stabby-stabby" version, theirs were made of bamboo.
This isn't the first time that Reynolds showed up for those in need. Back in 2016, he donated $5,000 to a movie theater that was in trouble for serving alcohol to movie-goers. Reynolds also let a 13-year-old cancer patient Connor McGrath see the film ahead of its premiere date. And later, when McGrath tragically passed away, the Deadpool star penned a heartfelt letter about the late teenager.
It's no wonder Blake Lively stays with him despite his mischievous antics. Deadpool 2 is slated to be released on May 18.
