Netflix's 'The Week Of' Trailer Brings Adam Sandler and Chris Rock Together Again

Adam Sandler and Chris Rock are set to star as two polar opposite dads in Netflix's 'The Week Of.'

Adam Sandler and Chris Rock are teaming up for a Netflix film, The Week Of.

The two comedians portray fathers who are polar opposites but must deal with each other during "the longest week of their lives" leading up to their children's wedding. So it's like Meet The Parents meets Guess Who with maybe a dash of Jumping the Broom (and hopefully none of Get Out).

The first trailer shows the two dads in a car, Sandler being passive aggressive in his attempts to leave the air conditioning off, Rock being straightforward in letting him know that he would prefer that it's on. Unfortunately, the off-beat humor seems to fall flat, which is surprising considering how funny the two can be. However, the scenes cut between the car jokes look far more promising. On top of Magic!'s upbeat song "Rude," the trailer gives glimpses of heartwarming moments, eye-catching hijinks and an inevitable part where the two dads grow to like and understand each other.

Robert Smigel, who's been in the comedy business for two decades as a writer, actor, and producer, is making his directional debut with The Week Of. Smigel and Sander also co-wrote the film.

Back in 2014, Sandler signed a deal with Netflix to write, star, and produce four movies for the streaming giant. Since then, he's released The Ridiculous 6,The Do-OverSandy Wexler, and The Meyerowitz Stories (New and Selected). Last year, Netflix signed Sandler on for four additional films.

The Week Of, which also stars Rachel Dratch and Steve Buscemi, is slated to arrive on April 27.
