A UK man who was convicted of murdering his ex-girlfriend is worried about whether he’ll miss the release of Grand Theft Auto VI.

Robert Richens, 35, was arrested for the murder of 40-year-old Rachael Vaughn on May 30, 2025, at her home in Abingdon, England. At the time, Richens called emergency services claiming he had accidentally “killed” someone.

In footage of him appearing in court for sentencing on Feb. 6, Richens can be heard crying and whining about the possibility of missing the release of GTA VI because of an expected life sentence.

“I’m going to miss GTA innit,” said Richens in the footage. When an officer asked him to clarify what he’s talking about, Richens responded with “Six.”

That same officer later repeated what Richens said to him in their brief conversation: “I accidentally killed her. At least I admitted to it. I’m going to miss GTA. I’m going to get life.”

During his court case, prosecutors said that Vaughn suffered a prolonged, violent assault. They alleged that Richens didn’t attempt to get Vaughn any help for her injuries and only reached out to the police when he didn’t have a choice.

Richens pleaded guilty to murder on Dec. 12.

Grand Theft Auto VI is currently scheduled to come out on Nov. 19. The parent company of Rockstar Games, Take-Two Interactive, confirmed that the marketing push for the game will begin this summer.
