"A lot of you were saying, 'Girl, just go get one for yourself.' So that's what I did."

Pokimane bought herself an engagement ring and took to social media to flex.

The streamer broke the news on TikTok with what basically amounted to an unboxing video that feels like an advertisement for the jewelry company Bulgari.

“I bought an engagement ring for myself,” she said. “In the comments of my last video, you guys kept talking about a ring. A lot of you were saying, 'Girl, just go get one for yourself.' So that's what I did. A ring at Bulgari that I just fell in love with.”

As for why she did it, Pokimane had a surprisingly sensible reason.

“It felt like way too much to get for myself,” she began. “But then the more I thought about it, I was like, I hope someday I actually get engaged."

"The person that you are engaged to the most in your entire lifetime is your damn self,” she added. “So why shouldn't I get this ring on my damn self? So this is me proposing to myself.”

From there, Pokimane put the ring itself front and center.

“Damn! Look at the gorgeous diamonds,” she said. “When the packaging is beautiful, the way that it contrasts, you know when jewelry is so pretty, you want to eat it? Is that just me? Like, it's so delectable."

Pokimane’s new engagement ring comes shortly after the streamer released an honest video about why she isn't married.

"One, dating while being a public figure has its difficulties," she said. "If I go on a dating app, I'm either bombarded with people asking if it's really me or I get banned because they think I'm catfishing myself."

Pokimane revealed that her issues don't just stop there. Afterwards, she explained how she doesn't want to be with someone insecure about what she does for a living.

"Meeting up with a stranger is risky enough, but even more so after instances where a guy will pretend they don't know who I am, and then I find out they knew all along," she explained. "I also think that as a career-oriented woman, I don't want to settle for someone who's insecure about what I do or wants to control me. I'd never want to be that way towards my partner, too."

After that, Pokimane opened up about a "traumatizing experience" that has made it hard for her to trust other people.

"Once you see the emotional, psychological, and even physical impact that someone can have on you, it has you cautious about entering into anything new," she revealed.

Pokimane ended the video by calling herself a "hopeless romantic."
