The Wayans Brothers are teasing a sequel to White Chicks — but only under one condition.
Speaking to Entertainment Tonight about their upcoming film, Scary Movie 6, Shawn and Marlon Wayans were asked if a White Chicks 2 could happen, to which they replied yes, provided their upcoming horror parody film is successful.
"We’re game. We want to know if people come out and laugh, if they come see Scary Movie (6)," Marlon said, before adding that White Chicks' biggest supporters "don’t play" about the film, also claiming that white women often ask him if it's going to be made or not.
"If this movie does well, a White Chicks 2 movie can happen," Shawn added.
White Chicks was released in 2004 and quickly became a cult classic. The film led by Marlon and Shawn grossed more than $113 million at the box office. A sequel to the film was announced in 2009 by Sony before being canceled.
Last month, Marlon spoke about why Shannon Elizabeth will be absent from Scary Movie 6, after she had expressed her disappointment in not returning.
With several of the original Scary Movie films' actors like Anna Faris and Regina Hall returning for Scary Movie 6, which is being billed as a reboot, Elizabeth, who played Buffy Gilmore in the franchise's first film, revealed to the world that she hand't gotten a call to return, saying that she was "hoping to be a part of it" but didn’t hear from the creators.
Marlon responded to her announcement in an interview with the Shade Room, saying that he loves Elizabeth, and that the decision "definitely wasn’t personal." "It was toooooo many people coming back," he said.
Marlon left the door open to her appearing in the future, saying: "The franchise ain’t going nowhere so maybe down the line somewhere."
