Lily-Rose Depp says that watching Edward Scissorhands “traumatized” her.

The actress recently spoke to Harper’s Bazaar about her new film, Nosferatu and spoke about being allowed to watch her father, Johnny Depp, in Edward Scissorhands years ago.

“I was traumatized by it,” she explained. “Not because I thought he was scary, but because everyone was being so mean to him and I got really upset.”

Lily-Rose also admitted that she was so upset by the ending that she hasn’t watched it again. “I remember being petrified by that, which is weird, because I don’t have many memories from when I was that young,” she said.

“It’s a difficult childhood memory,” she continued. “Edward’s the good guy and Nosferatu’s kind of the bad guy, but there’s a part of me that feels a little bit of empathy for Nosferatu. I mean, am I sick for feeling that way?”

Lily-Rose also opened up about what it was like to film Nosferatu. “It’s the most technical set I’ve ever been on,” said Depp. “It was almost like going to film school. It was intimidating and daunting, but an incredible privilege. I’m very proud, very excited.”

Nosferatu is currently crushing it in theaters. Director Robert Eggers recently spoke about how much he loved Lily-Rose’s audition for the film.

“I’m not exaggerating — I was in tears because her audition was so insane,” said Eggers. “She’s just such a disciplined, courageous, and, like, feral actor. She’s amazing.”
