Actor Kiefer Sutherland has been arrested after allegedly assaulting a ride-share driver in Los Angeles.

The 59-year-old was arrested in Hollywood around 12:15 in the morning on Jan. 13. NBC News spoke to LAPD officer Kevin Terzes, who detailed what occurred.

“The investigation determined that the suspect, later identified as Kiefer Sutherland, entered a rideshare vehicle, physically assaulted the driver (the victim), and made criminal threats toward the victim,” said Terzes.

The victim reportedly didn’t suffer any injuries that necessitated medical treatment at the scene.

Sutherland ended up being booked on an unspecified felony charge into Los Angeles County Jail. He posted a $50,000 bail and was released seven hours later.

The actor is set to go to court on Feb. 2 over the situation.

In 2007, Sutherland was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence in Hollywood. He was pulled over after making an illegal U-turn and then failed a field sobriety test.

Sutherland is best known for starring as Jack Bauer in Fox’s hit drama series 24. He won two Emmy Awards, two Screen Actors Guild Awards, one Golden Globe Award, and a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
