Judge Mathis thinks that Diddy’s friends should show up and support him during his ongoing federal trial, while condemning him privately.
TMZ caught up with Mathis and asked him about how he feels about the case shortly after Ye was seen attending the proceedings on Friday.
“I think it creates drama,” Mathis of Ye's attendance. “More drama than we’ve seen already. So that’s my assessment. I’m not sure whether that was intentional or to create drama, or whether he’s there to comfort or support a friend — which I think is fine.”
Mathis continued by offering advice for Diddy's friends and family.
“You should be there for your friend to comfort him. Even though he has done wrong,” he added. “He’s done some heinous crimes, assaults against these women. But if I were a family member, I would be there to comfort him, not defend him, not stick up for, what he’s done. I would condemn him in private and support him in public.”
Ye arrived to Diddy's trial wearing white pants and a jacket, just a day after reports surfaced that he planned to be in touch with the music mogul’s family about making an appearance in court for him.
That same day in court, Diddy’s former assistant Jonathan Perez explained his role in Diddy’s parties, explaining that both he and other staff members were in charge of arranging hotel parties for freak-offs.
In his testimony, Perez alleged that he’d often get condoms, alcohol, lubricant, and acquire drugs, and lighting supplies for Diddy’s “personal time.”
Perez then detailed the “King’s Night” events that could last anywhere from 12 to 24 hours. These were allegedly planned using a company card or cash obtained from security. After the events, Perez and the other employees had to clean up and ensure that items weren’t there that could be leaked to the press.
