IShowSpeed says he’s cut off contact with his girlfriend, Vanessa Anne Williams, for Ramadan.
The streamer revealed the decision in a recent stream when he watched back one of his old broadcasts where he outlined how he would observe the Islamic holy month. During Ramadan, which typically lasts for 30 days, Muslims often fast as a form of spiritual discipline.
"Yo chat, in Ramadan, you can't talk to no girls," he said. "You can't drink water or eat food, bro. You have to really lock in. So everybody in the chat, bro, hopefully you boys lock in."
He continued, “Chat, I’m not talking to my girlfriend, y’all. I already blocked her. Lock in chat.”
In December, Speed and Williams went viral when he attempted to land a backflip in front of her and failed miserably.
Speed was streaming Fortnite with Kai Cenat while Williams sat nearby in a chair. After Cenat issued him a challenge to do a backflip, Speed chastised him for putting him on the spot. A few seconds of concentration went by, and then Speed attempted to do the backflip in front of his girlfriend.
The attempt was a miserable failure. Speed’s launch was perfect, but gravity turned Speed into IShowPain. His legs went crashing into his desk, sending dust particles in the air. Speed’s body hit the ground as both Williams and Cenat watched with shocked looks on her faces.
Speed had previously introduced Williams to the world in a live reveal that began with her being nervous about getting put on camera.
“Anyways y’all, boys and girls, this is my girl Vanessa," Speed said at the time. "She is 20 years old."
Once she got acquainted with the camera and Speed’s audience, Williams answered three of his questions so the world could learn more about her.
The questions were, “Cristiano Ronaldo or Lionel Messi? What's your favorite anime? Bend or top?”
Williams responded with, “Ronaldo. One Piece. Bend.”
