Ben Stiller praised Ariana Grande’s comedic chops in the upcoming Focker-In-Law film during an episode of The View.

When asked about working with the singer on the upcoming Meet the Parents sequel that’ll reunite him with Robert De Niro, Blythe Danner, and Teri Polo, Stiller was understandably tight-lipped — but he still had some good things to say about Grande.

“I can’t really say too much about it yet,” said Stiller around the 50-second mark. “But Ariana’s in it. She’s amazing. What a brilliant comedic actress, just an amazing person.”

Stiller’s latest comments come after he revealed what it’s like working with Grande in a red carpet interview with E! News in September.

“What’s surprising, and maybe not really surprising, is how amazingly she blended in,” Stiller said at the time. “She’s such a pro, she’s so funny, she’s so talented, obviously as a singer, but also she was so funny and amazing in Wicked.”

“What she’s doing in this movie is very unique, it’s a very unique character, and we’re having a great time and just like to work with her,” he added.

In June, Stiller called her “the engine” of Focker-In-Law in an NBC interview.

“She’s so talented,” he said. “She’s so great with comedy. Can’t really talk too much at this point about the movie, but the character she’s playing, she’s gonna be really, really funny and the whole engine of the new movie.”

News of Grande’s involvement in Focker-In-Law hit the internet in May when reports surfaced providing details about the film. The Hollywood Reporter reports that the singer will be playing the role of the fiancée to Stiller’s character’s son.

Focker-In-Law’s screenwriter is John Hamburg, who co-wrote the previous three Meet the Parents films, and is set to direct this one. The movie is currently slated to come out in theaters on Nov. 25, 2026.
