Following a successful expansion into the YouTube world, Will Smith is now taking his social media prowess to TikTok.

Smith made the announcement of his TikTok-ification on Wednesday night, complete with a TikTok in which he himself is surprised to find none other than Will Smith on the platform.

"I guess I'm on TikTok now," he told the world:

Smith has credited his affection for (and the continued learning process behind) social media with helping him find fresh creative spark in his work. Speaking with Elliott Wilson and Brian "B. Dot" Miller for a TIDAL chat last year, he recalled a two-year period in which he reevaluated his place in pop culture.

"I'm burning again creatively," he said. "Now I have the outlets I didn't have before. I'm in the studio now, and I have real things to say. That's the thing that's gonna be new and different and interesting about the music that I create going forward."

Aside from music, the film component of the multifaceted Will Smith universe is also still rolling strong. Later this month, he'll star in Gemini Man, which will be followed in December by the release of the animated Spies in Disguise. His 2020 agenda, meanwhile, includes the long-awaited Bad Boys for Life with Martin Lawrence. A sequel to Netflix's Bright has also been announced.
