Will Ferrell Revives 'SNL' Impression of Harry Caray to Celebrate the Cubs on 'Kimmel'

Will Ferrell brought his iconic impression of the late Harry Caray to 'Kimmel' to talk Cubs, praise beer, and throw pretzels.

President Barack Obama wasn't the only big-name guest with something to say about baseball on Jimmy Kimmel's show on Monday night. Broadcasting god Harry Caray, looking remarkably similar to Will Ferrell circa Saturday Night Live, popped in to throw pretzels at the audience and ruthlessly mock the host.

"Hey Johnny," Ferrell said as Caray, who passed away in 1998 after spending 16 straight years as the announcer for the Chicago Cubs. "Did you know that the last time the Cubbies won the World Series, it was 1908. Long time, 1908. In 1908, our president was Theodore Huxtable Roosevelt. Did you know that? America's top export was Fruit Roll-Ups and the No. 1 television show was Fresh Prince of Bel-Air starring the $6 million man himself, Lee Majors." Hmmm. Accurate?

Ferrell, having officially reached walking living breathing god status earlier this year, is currently developing a wrestling comedy for Fox alongside Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson. The untitled series received a put pilot commitment at the network last week, Varietyreported. Johnson and Dany Garcia's Seven Bucks Productions will produce the comedy in collaboration with Ferrell and Adam McKay's Gary Sanchez Productions.

But back to these Cubs. You know who else is stoked beyond belief? Ferrell's fellow SNL legend Bill Murray. Murray, while being honored with the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor over the weekend, said the only reason he was able to make it to the Kennedy Center ceremony was the Cubs catching a victory. "If they hadn't won last night I would have had to have been there, because, honestly, I do not trust the media to report the story," Murray joked.
