Sometimes, people troll for a good cause. This guy took anti-equality bigots to task by pretending to be Target on Facebook.

Though many troll in the name of all that is awful and grotesque in this world (Donald Trump), others troll in the name of equality. After Target made its historic announcement of a new and decidedly progressive gender-neutral signage policy, anti-future bigots started bombarding Target's Facebook page with the usual drivel. Thankfully, one true American hero decided to intervene using the oft-misused art of trolling to hilariously reply to more than 50 embarrassingly dumb posts.

For the full effect, one must first absorb the applause-worthy statement from Target. After reading, feel free to loudly ponder how anyone could possibly be against such a positive move from a major corporation:

Almost immediately, Target started receiving melodramatic bigotry disguised as nature-proof morality in the form of Facebook comments. Facebook user Mike Melgaard, sensing an opportunity to admirably satirize the stupidity of such comments, decided to quickly create a fake Facebook account under the perceived identity of a Target customer service representative. Though the swift arm of Facebook eventually had the account deleted, Melgaard's crusade lasted an impressive 16 hours, warranting such gems of evisceration as:

Speaking with AdFreak following his display of digital heroism, Melgaard says his sense of duty quickly kicked in after Target's announcement. "Immediately, I knew there would be your typical outraged American spouting emotional reactions on their Facebook page," says Melgaard. "After taking a look, I was literally laughing out loud at my computer. A few more minutes in and it struck me how hilarious it would be to portray myself as a parody customer service rep. So, I did just that, and the rest was history."

History, indeed.
