Showtime has put the finishing touches on plans for some commercial free Election Night coverage from Stephen Colbert, former Colbert Report (RIP) legend and current host of CBS' Late Show. Varietyreported the live special, officially dubbed Stephen Colbert's Live Election Night - Democracy's Series Finale: Who's Going to Clean Up This Shit, will run a solid 60 minutes and allow Colbert to "let loose" on the evening's proceedings.

Though this Showtime spectacular will be executive produced by the same team as Colbert's Late Show, don't expect the usual CBS restraint. "It'll be all the political comedy you love from my CBS show, with all the swearing and nudity you love from Showtime," Colbert promised in a press release Monday.

Colbert will broadcast live from his usual Late Show HQ, the Ed Sullivan Theater. In addition to state-by-state election breakdowns, Colbert will also be hitting viewers (and a live studio audience) with remote segments and special guests. Hmmm. Maybe we'll get John? Better yet, Jon? Whatever you do, just no Jimmys please.

Speaking of John Oliver, dude will be teaming up with Colbert for a separate, non-TV special currently titled Wow, That Was Weird: A Post-Election Evening With Stephen Colbert and John Oliver Nov. 19. According to the Asbury Park Press' announcement of the throwdown last month, the two will "riff about" the outcome of the presidential election while raising money for the Montclair Film Festival.

But first up, the election itself. Join Colbert over on Showtime Nov. 8 at 11 p.m. ET for an hour of news-centered comic relief. Despite what one candidate believes, the election is indeed taking place Nov. 8, i.e. not Nov. 28.
