Creed director Ryan Coogler is set to continue his recent winning streak with Minors, a TV drama currently in development with Short Term 12 director Destin Daniel Cretton and accomplished playwright Chinaka Hodge. Coogler is developing the series with production company Macro, according to Variety. Macro, self-described as "a disruptive media company focused on the multicultural market," is set to assist in bring the project together ahead of what should become quite the bidding war.

Minors will reportedly pull from Coogler's experience of growing up in the East Bay, in addition to Cretton's residential foster care work and Hodge's own 15-year history of working with Bay Area children. Conceived by the trio as a collaborative effort, Minors aims to "tackle institutionalization in a unique and fresh way" by exploring how these facilities impact children over the course of a 12-month period. While Hodge will lead the writing team for the prospective series, Coogler and Cretton will share directing duties.

Following the critical and commercial success of Creed, Coogler was enlisted to direct Marvel's forthcoming Black Panther, due in 2018. "We are fortunate to have such an esteemed filmmaker join the Marvel family," Marvel boss Kevin Feige said when announcing Coogler’s sign-on. "The talents Ryan showcased in his first two films easily made him our top choice to direct Black Panther."

On Tuesday, the Fruitvale Station director announced #JUSTICEFORFLINT. The event, which will feature appearances by Hannibal Buress and Ava DuVernay, is set to take place in Michigan on the same night as the Oscars. "With the #JUSTICEFORFLINT benefit event we will give a voice to the members of the community who were the victims of the choices of people in power who are paid to protect them," Coogler told BuzzFeed News.
